Many times when I finish helping parents get their child's sleeping on track they ask if I can help them. Although I do not work with adults, I do suggest they follow many of the basic ideas behind their child's sleep plan. The New York Times recently published an article on basic behavioral changes to implement to help an adult suffering from insomnia. In my artcle "Why The Fuss Over Sleep" I discuss research based on adults that link sleep deprivation with obesity. New studies have emerged that connects lack of sleep in children with childhood obesity. Many parents are surprised to learn how much sleep their children should be getting.
